Could you be more specific? If you click on a editor side bar now a breakpoint (line, method, field) is created except the case when the side bar is 'blocked' by another editor annotation (see issue 105746). thanks Click on side bar is ok but 'right click' on side bar should have toggle breakpoint like like eclipse doing,Then even side bar is 'blocked' by another editor annotation still we can set breakpoints right ? Well, we can consider this. But we're far after UI freeze for NB 6.0. :-( Any luck on Late UI Changes http://wiki.netbeans.org/wiki/view/NB6LateUIChanges From my point of view, this is a good RFE; must be approved by NB usablity team. Anyway, shortcut CTRL+F8 or main manu action can be used in this case. >>From my point of view, this is a good RFE; must be approved by NB usablity team.

If We fix this even side bar is 'blocked' by another editor annotation still we can set breakpoints(see issue 105746).
If developer migrating from eclipse this is big usability problem. increasing priority -->P2 Created attachment 51770 [details]

Jano, what solution do you suggest to use here? any plans on 6.1 M1? any luck on 6.1 6.1 is considered to be a bugfix release without any new features. This is a relatively light UI change, but the functionality needs to be assured across all debuggers. We are considering more radical UI changes in a release after 6.1 so this will likely go there... any luck on 6.5 :( Toggle Breakpoint context action in the editor gutter is implemented in changeset: 158080:93c5a2066628. http://hg.netbeans.org/main/rev/93c5a2066628 Integrated into 'main-golden', will be available in build *201001240200* on http://bits.netbeans.org/dev/nightly/ (upload may still be in progress) Changeset: http://hg.netbeans.org/main/rev/93c5a2066628 User: mentlicher@netbeans.org Log: #120131 - Add Toggle Breakpoint action to the gutter context menu so that breakpoint can be submitted even when gutter is occupied by other annotations. verified in NB 6.9 |
