To reproduce:
1. create two class diagrams.
2. add an classs element.
3. right click the class element and choose Associate With... menu item.\
4. In the Associate dialog window, search one class diagram by name.
5. select the class diagram in the list and click do associate button.
6. close the dialog window.
7. On the project tree, check the relationshps of the class element.
Notice there is no diagram reference shown. See attached snapshot.

this info is listed on element property sheet under associated diagrams node
