Im not sure if this is a defect or enhancement but when following certain guides that tell me to replace the frame.gif frame48.gif (under branding/../../../support) and so on such that I can brand my own netbeans application. The only one that doesnt seem to work is frame32.gif which, as I have read, replaces the netbeans .exe icon. So when i run "Build Zip Distribution" and look at the /bin directory the executable (.exe) has the existing netbeans icon.
Can you guys look at Peter's problem ? Peter, meanwhile please read Jaroslav's advice here: http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?listName=nbdev&msgNo=30790
Currently it is only possible to override icons of main window (also displayed in taskbar). I need to find a way how to update .exe file with specified icons.
One way is to bundle some utility like http://angusj.com/resourcehacker/ to update the icon in existing .exe. Another one is to use cc wrapper tasf for Ant and rebuild the .exe if gcc is available. If we could also print a warning if gcc cannot be found and hint what to do this can be acceptable IMO (installing cygwin including gcc and rebuild of launchers is easy).
