I am extremely pleased to see that there is now support for component edge alignment and would love to see additional VB type support for centering components vertically, horizontally relative to the form and/or relative to each other. Ultimately, I would love to see NetBeans provide the same level of support that .NET (Oops, I hate it when people reference M$) does for laying out, aligning, and spacing components.
I have only used Matisse for a few days, but not having CENTER ALIGNMENT OF COMPONMENTS is my biggest gripe so far. For example, I have a JTextField with a JButton directly below it; the JTextField is wider than the JButton. I would like to center the JButton under the JTextField, but I cannot find a way to automatically do this; I end up sizing and placing the JButton manually, and I don't always center it correctly. Anyhow, I would love to see this capability added as soon as possible.

If everything goes well, we'd like to have this in 6.0... Not in detailed plan yet, so setting 'target milestone' to 'future'.
