Description mutunus 2005-05-15 03:27:46 UTC
I've just installed the jar containing NB4.1 with the included SAS8.1. This is the 10th time Ive installed it
and deleted it. The application server is not at all properly configured and I cant even force it by the
following: the installer installs it as a .app bundle so then in the finder I delete .app in the filename then
server wizard in netbeans allows me to navigate the netbeans directory (or the finder)-- no joy -- this
is futile. In sum, the installer has not properly configured the sas8.1 tomcat runs fine but thats not the
issue. The Database wont even fire up and I can get that going fine in NetBeans 4.0. I rm -r 'ed my
.netbeans and deleted netbeans.app and reinstalled and it still continues. I even created a new user on
my system and it still continues logged in as that user. FYI: im running MacOSX 10.3.9 using Java
1.4.2. update 3 on my 12" powerbook G4.

Not sure if this is right component to reassign, please reassign better if needed.

I'm a little bit confused. Could you please specify where's the problem?
- Are you able to run AppServer after installation?
- Are you able to run a Web Application?
Thanks!

You must uninstall (NOT delete) SJS AS installation using NB+SJS AS bundle
uninstaller. SJS AS uses WSW SDK for its installer - it creates file
productregistry.xml in your home dir on Mac OS X where it stores info about
installed components. If you only delete SJS AS installation file
productregistry.xml is not properly updated and next installation of SJS AS to
the same location fails. Then the only workaround is to delete file
productregistry.xml from user home dir before you try next install. Please let
me know if this is your problem or not. (I am sorry for delay I was on vacation
for 2 weeks.)

Closing as WONTFIX. As described above bundle must not be deleted but it must be
uninstalled. Workaround is to delete file productregistry.xml in user home
directory.
