Up until this happened, I was ecstatic. I used netbeans 4 and thought that this beta was light years ahead of it. It created a file, during a build that was actually successful, but trying to create a million subdirs it stopped and continued build but left a file that freakin indestructable! I couldn't delete, move, rename, cut, erase, burn, blowup - NOTHING. And I couldn't delete the excess dirs because of supermanfile. The files names are of the form .LCK*.*~ HELP! Please do not paste long text into comment, add it as attachment next time, thanks. Have you modified project.properties by hand? Your problem seems to be related to wrongly modified project.properties - see issue 54525. Try to fix property build.dir=web to build.dir=build. If it doesn't help, please add more information about "how it happend" and reopen this issue. Thanks.
