Description baliuka 2003-06-03 14:01:38 UTC
VER
Microsoft Windows 2000 [Version 5.00.2195]

free disk space 9.39 GB

JAVA_HOME points to j2sdk1.4.0, but 1.3.1_01 is in PATH

java -version
java version "1.3.1_01"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build
1.3.1_01)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.1_01, mixed mode)

java process hungs on "Click Next to install nb to this
directory" step.

It was no problems to install and run
this version on win XP.
Unpacked from zip file works without problems too.

Hi,

could you please try to change your JAVA_HOME setting to be correct
(j2sdk1.3.1_01) and try if it helps, please? What is situation on XP
machine where it works? How many jdks are there and what are env setings?
Thanks.

I have tried this:
C:\>set JAVA_HOME
JAVA_HOME=C:\jdk1.3.1_01

C:\>java
'java' is not recognized as an internal or external
command,
operable program or batch file.

It seems installer ignores JAVA_HOME and uses 1.4.0 (hungs
with this version).
I have renamed j2sdk1.4.0 directory, it helps to find "old
good" jre
and it works with 1.3.1.

Thank's for investigation. It definitly looks we have problem with
installer on jdk1.4.0. Please, could you try simply reinstall your
jdk1.4.0 and try it if it helps? we had similar problem and
reinstallation of jdk helped.
Thanx.

Maring as WONTFIX since jdk 1.4.0 is not supported for NB 3.6
