I downloaded 3.4.1 on my RH8.0 system. I have the J2SDK 1.4.1_01 installed in /usr/java/j2sdk. I tried running the binary linux installer by itself, and it pops up the installer window saying Initializing Wizard, but it just hangs there. I also tried running the installer with the option -is:javahome /usr/java/j2sdk and the same thing happens.
Thanks for checking on this. Is there a workaround in the meantime? i.e. a way to manually install this w/o the installer? Thanks
Yes, you can download zip ball and simply unzip it. It creates netbeans directory. Run runide.sh. http://www.netbeans.org/devhome/download.html R.
I have tried 3.4.1 on RedHat 8.0 and it works for me. It might be some problem in your OS settings or memory. Signing as worksforme.
