This Bugzilla instance is a read-only archive of historic NetBeans bug reports. To report a bug in NetBeans please follow the project's instructions for reporting issues.
1. Do a clean install of the IDE, start it 2. In Runtime tab, choose Server Registry -> Installed Servers -> Tomcat -> Internal -> Start Server 3. The web browser will come up, select links JSP Examples, Servlet Examples or Tomcat Documentation on this page. The links are broken, nothing will be displayed. This is because the user-private Tomcat base directory in $USER_HOME/tomcat401_base/webapps does not contain all applications which are installed in the Tomcat distribution: $IDE_HOME/tomcat401/webapps. I suggest the fix should be to specifically add contexts with the appropriate docbase ($IDE_HOME/tomcat401/webapps) to the user-private Tomcat configuration file $USER_HOME/tomcat401_base/conf/server.xml
This was already filled - your suggested fix is exactly what is needed but requires Tomcat4.1.
Fixed for the examples, but still an issue for Tomcat Documentation. Assigning to Pavel.
NetBeans 4.0 - links to examples/documentation don't work as well.
This is because we remove the documentation and examples from bundled tomcat. To fix this problems we would also need to remove the links from index.
Tomcat 4.0 no longer supported. Please reopen if the bug is applicable to supported versions for NetBeans 6.5
