This is a very useful feature (for me) in Eclipse. The full path of the currently opened file (i.e. the active tab) is put in the window title of the IDE. Would be nice to have this in NetBeans as well.

workaround: mouse over the tab will show it or the plugin Geertjan mentioned

Thanks for the plugin link, that's already something.

One reason why I like this is the fact that I can also hover the different NetBeans processes (if I have several of them) on the Windows taskbar, and see the file that is open. Not sure if that's a use-case in NetBeans, but in Eclipse, I like to keep several different windows...
