Description Tomas Zezula 2015-02-27 09:44:28 UTC
The Default platform is missing after initialisation of java cluster and the IDE is unusable.

Important part of log:

org.netbeans.modules.java.platform.DefaultJavaPlatformProvider]: The file: default_platform.xml has no InstanceCookie

No exception.

Does not happen after rm -rf ergonomics

There is a simple workaround; add a new platform and give it a name that you are sure not exist, then the default platform will reappear in the list and you can work until you restart the IDE, at wich point you need to do it again...

Unable to reproduce. There were a few ergonomics bugs filed at the same time and some were fixed. Could that be the reason this bug is not happening anymore.

jkovalsky, chiana, are you able to reproduce this problem with recent daily builds?
Comment 5 Chiana 2015-06-18 05:04:53 UTC
Seems no longer appear
Comment 6 Jiri Kovalsky 2015-06-18 12:38:30 UTC
Works fine for me too in:

Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 201506170001)
Java: 1.8.0_40; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.40-b25
Runtime: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.8.0_40-b26
System: Linux version 3.13.0-37-generic running on amd64; UTF-8; cs_CZ (nb)

Feel free to close as WORKSFORME Tondo.

Totally agree on that, a simple suggestion is to also add a status "FixedByOtherFix" to the set as this happens now and then... I mean, it was broken but then suddenly fixed by some other fix, that was fixed...

Thanks for confirmation! Closing.
