Product Version = NetBeans IDE Dev (Build nbms-and-javadoc-2120-on-20140914) Operating System = Linux version 3.13.0-36-generic running on amd64 Java; VM; Vendor = 1.7.0_65 Runtime = OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM 24.65-b04 Netbeans is starting as a development version after last update rather than 8.0.1. At the top of the IDE it says: NetBeans IDE Dev nbms-and-javadoc-2120-on-20140914 Will this be fixed in an update or do I need to install 8.0.1 again.

Very probably you have registered UC from dev builds .... Libor, I am not sure from this log, so please reevaluate ...
I havent registered anything (not intentionally anyway). This was an 8.0 install, that was updated via internal IDE updates to 8.0.1. The splash screen was showing 8.0.1 on startup. Now it says Development Version following an internal IDE update last week. What other information can I give you that will help, or possibly identify what I did to cause it to revert to the development version?
Had another look and it looks like it is due to the installation of the "Developing NetBeans" plugin. It has the description "nbms-and-javadoc-2120-on-20140914".
