The latest 8.0 beta consistently crashes Windows 8.1 x64 with a BAD_POOL_HEADER exception.
Can you please provide more information? What kind of crash is it? JVM crash? OS crash? Can you attach some log files with more info about the crash? Thanks. BTW: This issue has nothing to do with NetBeans performance, reassigning.
This is an OS crash (a.k.a., BSOD), which reports a BAD_POOL_HEADER exception. I did not know the appropriate category, so thank you for reassigning it to the proper one. When I have time I will try to attach a dump file or have it crash again and grab one. I believe it is repeatable, because it happens every time I use this version of MB.
A cursory analysis of the dump file suggests that the issue is with WebDrive, which I use to mount remote drives via SFTP. However, the problem only arises with NB 8 beta. Previous versions work fine with WebDrive. I have sent the dump file to the WebDrive folks and will post a followup here.
For what it's worth, the OS crashes within a minute of accessing ANY file that is mapped with the latest version of WebDrive (11.0 (Build 2852) 64-bit. Accessing the files with other applications does not crash the system. Only Netbeans causes the BSOD. There is no problem using Netbeans 7.4. It is only an issue with Netbeans 8.0.
So far, we can't do anythin gon our side .. please update us with new findings on WebDrive side, thanks in advance.
