I have used NetBeans (PHP) for every day development. The last couple versions I have used Beta and RC versions. 

Currently using 7.4 RC2 without many issues. I just downloaded 7.4 and after a successful installation I tried to start the IDE and got the warning attached to this bug report.  

There are two options exit and disable modules and continue. Both shut netbeans down rendering the latest version useless.


I have both RC1 and RC2 running correctly on the same machine.

Have you reused an old userdir, or imported settings or plugins at the first start?

Please attach messages.log file from 7.4 userdir.

Try deleting the whole 7.4 userdir and starting 7.4 as a fresh install.

When I launched NetBeans 7.4 this morning it instisted on updating quite a few modules/plugins. I noticed that it had two windows open doing this. When it finished and I attempted to start NetBeans I got the same warning message and could not proceed to open the application. When I attempted to uninstall it, Windows complained about a problem in the registry and I was unable to uninstall it.
