Product Version = NetBeans IDE 7.4 RC1 (Build 201309162201) Operating System = Windows 7 version 6.1 running on x86 Java; VM; Vendor = 1.7.0_40 Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 24.0-b56 It is very hard to type quoted strings in 7.4 because the quotes keep getting doubled up and trying to delete the extra one gets rid of both of them. if you already have the following (in a groovy file for example): 'hello and you try to close the quote, you get this - with two single quotes at the end 'hello'' if you try to delete one of them it just goes back to: 'hello NB should be aware that it is closing the quote and not behave as if you are starting a new string. In 7.3 you could at least delete only one of the quote quotes that were added.
Fixed by change-set: web-main #fc6fe4401cc8 Thanks for the report
Integrated into 'main-silver', will be available in build *201310150001* on http://bits.netbeans.org/dev/nightly/ (upload may still be in progress) Changeset: http://hg.netbeans.org/main-silver/rev/fc6fe4401cc8 User: Martin Janicek <mjanicek@netbeans.org> Log: #236428 - Auto-complete of quotes is absolutely horrible in 7.4 (was only really bad in 7.3.x)
