I do 'Pack All Columns' all the time after a Query. Please add the ability to remember 'Pack All Columns' for Queries. Product Version = NetBeans IDE 7.3 (Build 201302132200) Operating System = Linux version 3.8.0-21-generic running on amd64 Java; VM; Vendor = 1.7.0_21 Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 23.21-b01
I am facing the same problem with the "Pack all Columns" feature. Product Version = NetBeans IDE 7.3 (Build 2013060352037) OS=Winndows 7 version 6.1 running on amd64;Cp1253; Runtime:Java SE Runtime Environment 1.60._25-b06

I would like this feature as well. Product Version: NetBeans IDE 8.0.2 (Build 201408251540) Java: 1.7.0_71; OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM 24.65-b04 Runtime: OpenJDK Runtime Environment 1.7.0_71-mockbuild_2014_10_15_10_02-b00 System: Linux version 3.10.0-123.13.2.el7.x86_64 running on amd64; UTF-8; en_US (nb)
Me too. I use SQL query panel a lot and for results with many columns it's so annoying to press the "pack columns" button. For a LOT of columns (around 40) the "pack columns" button is even harder to reach.
Definitely a most needed feature. Maybe, instead of something under Tools --> Options, better s toggle button like the one to "Keep Prior Tabs" in the tool bar for the current SQL commands document. By the way [scriptoid], how do you reach "Pack All Columns" option when there's a LOT of columns in the result? I have not been able to do that.
Created attachment 158218 [details] Idea of pack button/option This is an idea where "Pack/Expand" columns button would be nice to be present
@dvader666 I do not have a problem when there many columns as there is a scroll and the drop down menu is present all the time - see attached picture. Now it would be nice to have a combination of general options and per query settings. Ex: Being able to make all queries either expanded or packed inside the General options but also have a toggle button (see attached picture) that will be "per query result that will allow to pack or expand the columns. Personally I do wonder who would like his columns expanded by default....i think most of us would like it packed...but I might be wrong.
