Created attachment 125705 [details] Screenshot Try to save Threads image on Windows 7 into Libraries > Pictures folder. You'll get the following error message (attached): "Failed to save image to C:\Program Files (x86)\NetBeans Dev 201210100002\Pictures\threads.png." Even the path shown in this message is not correct.
Can't reproduce the problem, there's no Libraries > Pictures folder provided by the Swing 'Select File or Directory' in my Windows 7. Saving to C:\Users\%USER%\Pictures ("My Pictures") works fine. Please describe how did you access the Libraries > Pictures folder. Does the same work correctly for you in other Java applications?
Created attachment 125722 [details] Screenshot of Libraries selection I'm selecting this from the dropdown on top. However you're right that this doesn't seem to be the profiler only problem. I tried to Save As a NetBeans file and got almost the same result: "Cannot create the target folder" message.
This is common NetBeans problem.
If it is so common outside of profiler, then give me steps to reproduce without "threads image". Otherwise I'll assume it is a profiler problem.

Let's pretend it is a Swing file chooser problem. Tonda can find somebody to confirm and possibly workaround it.
Please provide JDK version info and reopen, thanks.
Reproducible with the following JDK: Java: 1.7.0_04; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 23.0-b21
