Description _ gtzabari 2012-09-16 20:23:38 UTC
1. Note the font size of the Windows desktop. Open Netbeans, note the font size.
2. Increase the DPI setting in Windows, log off, log on.
3. Note the font size of the Windows desktop has increased. Open Netbeans, note the font size remains the same.

Expected behavior: The font size of all components should increase when the Windows DPI setting is increased.

I found http://wiki.netbeans.org/FaqFontSize and it works great. This missing link is to automatically convert Windows DPI setting to --fontsize

Seems not like a defect to me. Can we rely on system DPI setting on all systems ? Maybe we might think about this as an enhancement I guess, to add the option to adjust font size automatically according to DPI if it is known...

NetBeans when rendered with 150% DPI

I would like to suggest you reconsider the priority of this bug. PCs with high DPI displays are increasing.

On the PC I'm using, the DPI of the desktop is set to 150%. When the DPI setting is that high, Windows tries to compensate for applications like NetBeans that don't support high DPIs. It uses something like bilinear interpolation to stretch NetBeans; resulting in a very blurry looking rendering.
