it is possible to configure a jira server to have punctuation characters as a part of a project key, therfore if an issue number is surrounded by e.g. []  in a commit message, it wasn't recognized as an issue and hyperlinked in the history view. The fix provided in issue #213501 works only with a switch, but should be made also available in the jiras options page.
