It would be great if you could update the bundled Tomcat to the latest version 7.0.26 since it contains many bugfixes compared to the now bundled version 7.0.22. For example, the (for me working on a webapp very serious) bug https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=52669 was introduced in 7.0.22 and fixed in 7.0.26.

It would probably be good to have this version of Tomcat both in 7.1.2 (like Glassfish was also updated from NetBeans 7.1 to 7.1.1) and 7.2 as well.

I tested basic functionality and release notes and everything seems to be ok. Can we update the installer?

It seems that Tomcat 7.0.27 will be rolled out in the not so far future and so definitely before the NetBeans 7.2 release. Therefore would you want me to perhaps "freeze" this issue and change it to 7.0.27 as soon as it is available (and obviously tested) or should I then open a new issue.

Does anyone know the date for 7.0.27?

If not, let's update to 7.0.26 now.

Tonda, do you want to do that for 7.1.2 ?

How about the following idea:

I have been using NetBeans 7.1.1 together with Tomcat 7.0.26 for quite some time without any issues at all. So I would agree with Marian that the update to that version could be done for 7.1.2 already. Therefore I have just changed the target milestone to 7.1.2. Please revert this to 7.2 if this is wrong!

...and then for NetBeans 7.2, Tomcat 7.0.27 can be integrated: I will test (and deploy on it) it anyways as soon as it comes out. Actually, it seems that the release will happen very soon since on the Tomcat Dev mailing list the voting for that version has started on March 31.

I'd prefer to target only 7.2 with the update so that 7.1.2 does not require additional unplanned testing.

Unless web team requests that the fix mentioned above needs to get into 7.1.2.

@Antonin: The idea why this Tomcat update is so important - at least in my view - is the important bugfix mentioned in my initial comment. Also - and again, I do not know whether this counts - I am using the combination of NetBeans 7.1.1 and Tomcat 7.0.26 extensively for quite a while and it works perfect together.
Comment 8 Ondrej Vrabec 2012-04-04 15:52:03 UTC
fixed in 7.2: http://hg.netbeans.org/core-main/rev/efd07db343e7
If someone (from the management) decides it should be transplanted to 7.1.2, reopen.

Integrated into 'main-golden', will be available in build *201204050400* on http://bits.netbeans.org/dev/nightly/ (upload may still be in progress)
