Description Selpi 2011-10-15 15:35:08 UTC
Product Version = NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 201110140600)
Operating System = Linux version 3.0.0-12-generic-pae running on i386
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.7.0_147-icedtea
Runtime = OpenJDK Client VM 21.0-b17

If you are trying to report an Issue, but haven't set a password (or it was lost after settings export from previous ide version) for NetBeans bugzilla, you get this error:

"Empty password not allowed to login https://netbeans.org/bugzilla.

Empty password not allowed for Authentication credentials.

Please validate credentials via Task Repositories view.
"
It's pretty confusing. There is no such menu or submenu as 'View' or 'Task Repositories'.

So an IDE user will have a hard time to figure out that the real place for repository settings is Services tab -> Issue Trackers -> Netbeans.

I think it will be a good idea to change a text of above error to guide a user to a proper location and even better if you will add a direct link to a repository settings.

Seconding this enhancement request.
Please change that message, it is somewhat puzzling and irritating.
The only way i was able to find out what that message meant after giving up a couple of days back and re-hitting this issue today, was googling "netbeans validate credentials through task repositories view" and land here.

I am marking this as worksforme because I cannot reproduce this situation.
I do not see the attached warning message. The dialog currently has a message that the user/pw is missing or invalid.
