somethimes you would like to take a look at a file or navigate in the project tree while writing the commit message. Always-on-top but not stopping me to interact with netbeans (like the search/replace dialog ctrl+h) would be great.

I am sorry, we already discussed this topic before, but decided not to make the commit dialog modal, see #155536

Let's think about and discuss the possibility of always-on-top dialog
