Perhaps you agree that the FTP support is not as fast and complete as it should be, nor, perhaps, should NB be focused on that.

I do believe however, that Netbeans could pass to another level, if it could have several deploy alternatives.

Deployment is an important aspect on ALL projects, and I believe the IDE is a natural choice for start the deployment process.

Build on giant shoulders, I would suggest creating a new feature that will allow Netbeans to be integrated with Capistrano - with the rails-less extension (that will be core soon).
