Description Jaromir Uhrik 2011-02-07 13:33:02 UTC
Product Version: NetBeans IDE 7.0 Beta 2 (Build 201102052128)
Java: 1.6.0_22; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 17.1-b03-307
System: Mac OS X version 10.5.8 running on x86_64; MacRoman; en_US (nb)

In IDE I want to connect to update centers. When I try to Reload Catalog the Warning dialog appears and tells that IDE is unable to connect to proper update center. And in the message there is the following URL:

1)
http://dlc.sun.com.edgesuite.net/netbeans/updates/7.0/uc/beta2/stable/catalog.xml.gz
although the url for the UC is registered in IDE as:
http://updates.netbeans.org/netbeans/updates/7.0/uc/beta2/stable/catalog.xml.gz

2)
http://dlc.sun.com.edgesuite.net/netbeans/updates/7.0/uc/beta2/beta/catalog.xml.gz
although the url for the UC is registered in IDE as:
http://updates.netbeans.org/netbeans/updates/7.0/uc/beta2/beta/catalog.xml.gz

3)
http://dlc.sun.com.edgesuite.net/netbeans/updates/7.0/uc/beta2/thirdparty/catalog.xml.gz
although the url for the UC is registered in IDE as:
http://updates.netbeans.org/netbeans/updates/7.0/uc/beta2/thirdparty/catalog.xml.gz
Comment 1 pgebauer 2011-02-07 13:45:06 UTC
You cannot connect to UCs simply because they haven't been created yet. I'm working on it right now. I will update this issue, once they are ready.
Comment 2 Marian Mirilovic 2011-02-08 16:32:04 UTC
This is a stopper for Beta 2.

Petr, please let us know once the servers are setup and ready for testing, thanks in advance.
Comment 3 pgebauer 2011-02-08 16:54:20 UTC
The Stable AUC has been created and populated by NBMs from the 70-beta2 build.

The Beta AUC has been created as well however I have discovered just 3 NBMs to
download. They have been uploaded already.

The Thirdparty AUC has been created however I don't have any module to download
so I'm not sure if AUC has been uploaded at all.
Comment 4 pgebauer 2011-02-10 13:27:04 UTC
There should not be any additional NBMs to upload.
I'm marking the issue as Fixed.
Comment 5 soldatov 2011-02-14 09:02:05 UTC
Does http://updates.netbeans.org/netbeans/updates/7.0/uc/beta2 repository work now? I can't install Java plug-in if I installed NetBeans with C/C++ pack only. And I can't install C/C++ plug-in if I installed NetBeans with Java pack only
Comment 6 Jaromir Uhrik 2011-02-15 08:01:05 UTC
org.netbeans.modules.dlight.libs is not declared in the catalog so that the C/C++ cannot be installed. There is one more plugin that is missing there (org.netbeans.modules.loadgenerator) so the JMeter Kit cannot be installed too.

Comment 8 Jaromir Uhrik 2011-02-15 09:03:46 UTC
My previous comment is related to 'java' distribution. When I have 'javaSE' distribution and try to install all available plugins from update center then I get the problem with the following:

Some plugins require plugin org.netbeans.modules.dlight.libs.common to be installed.
The plugin org.netbeans.modules.dlight.libs.common is requested in version 1.7. The following plugin is affected:       C/C++

Some plugins require plugin org.netbeans.modules.web.jsfapi to be installed.
The plugin org.netbeans.modules.web.jsfapi is requested in version 1.0. The following plugins are affected:       Java Web Applications       RESTful Web Services       SOAP Web Services

Some plugins require plugin org.netbeans.modules.web.jsfapi to be installed.
The plugin org.netbeans.modules.web.jsfapi is requested in version 1.2. The following plugin is affected:       Java Web Applications Some plugins not installed to avoid potential installation problems.

I have discovered modules below in non-ML version. They have been uploaded at Stable AUC already. The ML versions of those modules are not available.

org-netbeans-modules-dlight-libs-common.nbm
org-netbeans-modules-web-jsfapi.nbm
org-netbeans-modules-loadgenerator.nbm
Comment 11 Jaromir Uhrik 2011-02-15 10:02:17 UTC
Petre, I can still reproduce the problem. Is it ready for testing or should I wait for some time and test it after the change is propagated?
Thanks
Comment 12 Jiri Kovalsky 2011-02-15 10:24:41 UTC
We have often had problems with slow propagation of the changes and this could be the reason again.
Comment 13 pgebauer 2011-02-15 10:29:29 UTC
I'm not sure what the problem is now. I did all steps as usually so all files should be there. Have you updated your catalog.xml in the IDE before the test?

I can see file there:
http://dlc.sun.com.edgesuite.net/netbeans/updates/7.0/uc/beta2/stable/modules/dlight/org-netbeans-modules-dlight-libs-common.nbm
http://dlc.sun.com.edgesuite.net/netbeans/updates/7.0/uc/beta2/stable/modules/extra/org-netbeans-modules-loadgenerator.nbm
http://dlc.sun.com.edgesuite.net/netbeans/updates/7.0/uc/beta2/stable/modules/enterprise/org-netbeans-modules-web-jsfapi.nbm

If problem will still persist, I try to regenerate the catalog.xml again.

My problem with Java and C/C++ packs are resolved.
Comment 16 Jaromir Uhrik 2011-02-15 11:21:29 UTC
I have the following dependency problems with javaSE distribution (right now I downloaded the latest beta2 javaSE .zip and started with clear userdir to be sure that it is not cached somehow):
Some plugins require plugin org.netbeans.modules.dlight.libs.common to be installed.
The plugin org.netbeans.modules.dlight.libs.common is requested in version 1.7. The following plugin is affected:       C/C++
Some plugins require plugin org.netbeans.modules.web.jsfapi to be installed.
The plugin org.netbeans.modules.web.jsfapi is requested in version 1.0. The following plugins are affected:       EJB and EAR       Java Web Applications       PrimeFaces       RESTful Web Services       SOAP Web Services
Some plugins require plugin org.netbeans.modules.web.jsfapi to be installed.
The plugin org.netbeans.modules.web.jsfapi is requested in version 1.2. The following plugin is affected:       PrimeFaces Some plugins not installed to avoid potential installation problems.
Comment 17 pgebauer 2011-02-15 13:14:26 UTC
The problem have to be somewhere in proxy caching. Once I connect via wi-fi, I can see the correct catalog.xml file with the correct timestamp and all required files.
Comment 18 Jaromir Uhrik 2011-02-15 16:04:23 UTC
Yes, the catalog.xml is up to date. But in IDE there is registered catalog.xml.gz which is wrong - it contains old data. There is timestamp="08/27/21/07/02/2011" in the catalog.xml.gz.
Comment 19 pgebauer 2011-02-15 16:40:16 UTC
The problem is very likely due to DLC cluster synchronization. Currently I'm able to see changed catalog.xml.gz.
Comment 20 Jaromir Uhrik 2011-02-15 17:39:59 UTC
Does it mean that it should work now? Because I still have the same problem. I have tried in IDE and also loaded the catalog.xml.gz in Firefox so it seems like it is not fixed. It should not be cached now because I am trying it at home where I have direct connection (no proxy here).
Comment 21 Petr Jiricka 2011-02-15 21:54:59 UTC
It works for me now, I can no longer reproduce (I was able to reproduce this morning).
Comment 22 Jaromir Uhrik 2011-02-15 22:19:31 UTC
I can confirm that it works fine now. Since I cannot reproduce I agree with changing status back to Resolved.
Comment 23 Marian Mirilovic 2011-02-18 08:32:26 UTC
Petr, please do not leave opened P1s in the future, especially already fixed ones. Thanks in advance.
Comment 24 Jaromir Uhrik 2011-02-18 22:30:33 UTC
Verified.
