Description esmithbss 2011-01-07 00:51:07 UTC
Product Version = NetBeans IDE Dev (Build nbms-and-javadoc-6430-on-110106)
Operating System = Windows XP version 5.1 running on x86
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.6.0_22
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 17.1-b03

I have an Ant task that generates roughly 1500 files during its run. 20 in 1 folder and the rest in a second folder.

After executing the task, I need to open the folder with 20 log files in it; however, the IDE goes into a state where the "Checking for external changes" is Suspended when I attempt to open the folder. As a result, the folder tree doesn't update with my new files.

If the folder is open when I run the test, the folder is updated. It's only when the folder is empty that the folder doesn't update.

Within the pop-up menu there is no option to force the refresh of the folder contents. In fact, I cannot find any option in any menu that implies to me that I can force the folder to be refreshed.

Once I cancel the "Checking for external changes" process, the IDE updates and fills in the folder.

General note: Install Scan On Demand module. That one gives you refresh action on each folder (plus other useful behavioral changes).

Why shall checking for external changes be suspended? It never seems to be for me...
