(In reply to comment #3) > See issue #189151. What does this mean? Profiler is now integrated into NB and cleans my project file, so I can only use my project at 6.9 or at 7.0?
It means that in NB 7+ the targets required by profiler are included in the basic distribution and therefore no modification of the build.xml is necessary. In fact, such a modification would clash with the build infrastructure and would produce unpredictable results. As such, all modifications are removed from the project files once they are opened in NB 7+. This doesn't mean that you can not open your project in an older IDE anymore - the IDE will simply generate the profiler integration again (as it did you first time tried to profile the particular project). I agree that the message could be somehow confusing but the only alternative would be to remove the integration in silence - and that also might not be something you want. Closing as invalid since "why" is not a real error description. If you would prefer to have an improved wording for the user warning when removing the unnecessary integration bits from a project when opening in NB 7+, please, reopen with a clear statement what is perceived as an erroneous behavior.
