According to the user manual there should be a hint and colored background at each code line associated with a user task. I've been searching for an option of some kind to switch this on but I couldn't find it. My sincere apologies if there's a way to do switch it on. Neither methods of the manual work: right-clicking on the left margin to add the line to a task. Nor opening a task and associate the current line with it.
can you pls post a link or reference to that section of user documentation? thanks
I don't know whether the context help of Netbeans is also available online. This how I proceeded: 1) Open some Java source file. 2) Right-click on left margin and select "user tasks > new task". 3) In the dialog "New Task" click on the "Help" button. 4) Select the item "How to Add a Task to the Source". In that particular help page there's a screenshot showing the line that was "right-clicked" has an icon in the left margin and a different background (orange). I'm including the screenshot of the manual. Personally I'd rather have it marked that way so people can't miss it.
Created attachment 99418 [details] screenshot from the netbeans manual about user tasks.
