Build: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 201004110201) VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM, 14.3-b01, Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment, 1.6.0_17-b04 OS: Windows XP User Comments: ravindranathakila: Still IDE startup. Scanning a project with 100 classes and many jars. Maven. Shows that it is activating Java EE (now not when this happened). The startup memory setting 32 is certainly not enough at any cost, who are we kidding?:-) set it to a default of about 96(which is the netbeans test minimum gc time benchmark value). Trust me, the IDE is too too slow, even 6.7.1. There seem to be fundamental issues. Features is not everything. Please notify the relevant developers to do some optimization. Will try to report all slowness juhrik: When creating j2se project the slowness was reported by IDE. It appeared befor the creation of project was completed. Maximum slowness yet reported was 7321 ms, average is 4393

I have read at least 5 snapshots from this report and none has shown anything fixable in the editor area. Closing the report as wontfix. If someone disagrees I am ready to review and apply possible patches. Thanks.
