Build: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build nbms-and-javadoc-4313-on-091116) VM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM, 14.3-b01, Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment, 1.6.0_17-b04 OS: Linux, 2.6.31-12-generic, amd64 User Comments: geoffw: just loaded the IDE with one simple java project and one maven2 web project. It's stuck on scanning projects. it said it was scanning my homedir when I clicked on the scanning projects toolbar status - dont know why it would need to. I installed scan on demand plugin as well Maximum slowness yet reported was 29552 ms, average is 12805

is this happening on each netbeans start? was there any i/o intensive application running in background? the profiler snapshot shows it took more than 600ms to create a native dialog window which seems very ridiculous... can you pls provide more details about your hardware? especially the amount of your RAM.
