When using Netbeans against JDK7, I am unable to view certain windows, such as Projects, Services...etc. I am also unable to open projects. For the most part the IDE silently fails when attempting to do these actions and is unusable with JDK7. java version "1.7.0-ea" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0-ea-b65) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 16.0-b06, mixed mode, sharing)
Mariane, can you confirm problems with JDK7? This issue is too general to be able to do anything about it.
qa component is not used as universal place for such issues .... We tested NB 6.7 with JDK 7 and as I remember we found couple problems, but nothing general like described in this issue. So, reporter could you please be more specific ? > I am unable to view certain windows, such as Projects, Services... Does it mean UI is broken ? If so do you have any log in console or log file ? > For the most part the IDE silently fails when attempting to do these actions and is unusable with JDK7. ... again, have you seen any log from the IDE ? If so could you please attach at least messages.log file located in $HOME/netbeans/.nb[version]/car/log/messages.log ... thanks in advance

Using JDK7 b70 Netbeans is working. There are a few little issues however. * Some dialog boxes are extremely tall (this happens in other apps also) * Some text is truncated (Examp...) (this happens in other apps) * The automatic closing of parans and braces seems to behave differently But for the most part, it is working with 1.7.0 b70. Will continue to update with any further issues.
thanks for update ... could you please report separate issues for > * The automatic closing of parans and braces seems to behave differently
