AUC request: ============ Module: JavaFX Support AUC Type: Beta AUC Version: 5.5, 6.0 AUC Category: Features Contact: Anatoli Fomenko NB signature required: Yes URLs: http://download.java.net/general/openjfx/plugins/nb55/updates.xml http://download.java.net/general/openjfx/plugins/nb60/updates.xml The modules were published successfully but there are some problems. 1. The modules miss any descriptions. 2. The download size in NetBeans 6.0 Plugin Manager is incorrect: 2.0 MB each. 3. "FX Editor" is incorrectly put into "Uncategorized" folder in NetBeans 6.0 Plugin Manager. 4. "JavaFXLibrary" and "JavaFXUserLibrary" modules are put into "Uncategorized" folder instead of "Library" folders.
The problem 2 was reported as issue #103724 and recently was closed as designed because value in Size column means total size. As for the remaining problems 1, 3 and 4, these are fixed and we need to publish the new versions. Can you please Roberte stage the new modules on 5.5 Beta and 6.0 Development AUCs? Thanks!
Problems seem to be fixed with update of the JavaFX modules.
It is allright on 5.5 Update center. But I cannot see it on 6.0 Update center in the following build: Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 200707171200) Java: 1.5.0_07; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 1.5.0_07-87 System: Mac OS X version 10.4.10 running on i386; MacRoman; en_US (nb)
Yes, I have already notified Robert about this. He is investigating ...

Roberte, while we are on this, could you please update JavaFX plugins on 5.5 Beta UC and 6.0 M10 UC? I have attached two ZIP files containing what needs to be published where. Thanks a lot!
Since 6.0 M9 is still in use (~1000 connections to the Update Center every day) please update the JavaFX plugin on both 6.0 M9 and M10 Update Center. Thanks a lot roberte!
I staged the updated modules on the Beta UC for NB 5.5 and on UC for NB 6.0 M9 and M10. Please, perform the download test.
Tested on staging server. M10 staging UC has problem: exception while trying to use UC, ide log is attached. This problem is reproducible under Linux and WinXP with clear userdir. 5.5 Beta is fine M9 is fine
Created attachment 45581 [details] messages.log with exception (07/24)
Jirka, please, help to evaluate this issue. The same set of JavFX modules is uploaded to UC for NB 6.0 M9 and M10. On UC for M9 they work fine, but there is a problem on M10. Could you, please, take a look at the catalog ? There is either small mistake in the catalog (coming form modules info.xml) or bug in Plugin manager.
Roberte, please proceed with 5.5 Beta and 6.0 M9 Update Centers. They have been tested and work fine. Might be for evaluation of M10 problem it will be helpful to know, that standalone JavaFX UC http://download.java.net/general/openjfx/plugins/nb60/updates.xml works fine with M10. Moreover, I can simple do installation from M9 update center in Netbeans 6.0 M10. So it looks more like a problem with UC than with Plug-in Manager. I'm rising the priority to P1 since we really do need an evaluation.
Thanks Alexei, that's an interesting finding! Can you please Roberte push the bits live on M9 and 5.5 Beta UCs? Thanks! And could you also double check what's so different between the two modules catalogues?
Jirka, Roberte, I have looked on xml from staging server and found the root of the problem: Umbrella feature definition is named exactly the same as one of components. Both of of them have "javafx" name. It is the reason why PM can't parse the file. Please change following in 60m10_1.22_.xml on UC: OLD VALUE: <feature codename="javafx" description="Java FX" displayname="JavaFX" global="false" module-dependencies="javafx.netbeans.fxuserlib/1 > 1.0.1, javafx > 1.0.1, org.netbeans.modules.javafx.editor/1 > 1.0.1, org.netbeans.modules.javafx.project/1 > 1.0.1"/> NEW VALUE: <feature codename="javafxsupport" description="JavaFX Script language support" displayname="JavaFX" global="false" module-dependencies="javafx.netbeans.fxuserlib/1 > 1.0.1, javafx > 1.0.1, org.netbeans.modules.javafx.editor/1 > 1.0.1, org.netbeans.modules.javafx.project/1 > 1.0.1"/> Thanks, Alexei.
Alexei, thanks a lot for you found out the problem (duplicating code-name between feature and module). Robert, please follow this recommendation, update the 60m10_1.22_.xml and PM should work in M10. Thanks
Thanks to Alexei finding I managed to fixed the problems on the UC for NB 6.0 M10 - I changed the codename of feature from javafx to javafx_feature. Please, double check.
I pushed the JavaFX modules live on Beta UC for NB 5.5 and on UC for NB 6.0 M9.
I can't download JavaFX plugin from M10 staging UC. What I do is - Add the http://testwww.netbeans.org/updates/60m10_1.22_.xml url to the plugin manager - Select and install JavaFX plugin - Accept the terms in all license agreements - Click Install on NetBeans IDE Installer dialog An Error dialog pops up. See the attached snapshot.
Created attachment 45782 [details] Error message when install JavaFX module from M10 staging UC
Confirmed. Staging UC doesn't work. The reason is that location has been changed to javafx_feature as well. But nbms are located in javafx folder. For example: http://www.netbeans.org/download/nbms/60m10/main/javafx_feature/org-netbeans-modules-javafx-project.1.0.1.nbm will return you ERROR 404: Not Found. But http://www.netbeans.org/download/nbms/60m10/main/javafx/org-netbeans-modules-javafx-project.1.0.1.nbm will return you correct NBM.
I made a small configuration error, that's why the download was failing It should be fixed now - I did a quick download test and I successfully downloaded the modules.
The 5.5 Beta UC contains old version ( 1.0 ) of JavaFX module
I have the same problem in 5.5 - look at the attached screenshot with the dependency problem...
I was able to install the plug-in from 6.0 M10 staging server. It shows me 4.0.4 version for the features (looks like 1.0.1 x 4). But except that fact it works. But looks like we missed something when tested 5.5 plug-in on staging server. Information which was in original updates.xml is lost. Deeper testing is necessary for tomorrow.

Attached updated NBMs for 5.5 plugin, editor version updated to 1.0.1 (installs well as locally downloaded NBMs) Roberte, could you please put them on 5.5 Beta staging server. Alexei.
NB 6.0 M10 staging server has been tested on Linux, WinXP and MacOS for JavaFX plugin. No problems were found except the fact that version is 4.0.4 for umbrella feature.
The calculated spec version is there by intention. That's how the Features functionality is implemented.
I uploaded the new version of JavaFX module for NB 5.5 to Beta UC. I pushed them directly live
I can't download JavaFX Projects and JavaFX UserLibrary modules from the NB 5.5 Beta UC. There is a download error during the modules downloading : "The download of JavaFX Projects failed". The JavaFX Editor and JavaFX Library modules are downloaded without problems.
Created attachment 45825 [details] Download Error
For some reasons these 2 modules didn't get uploaded. It should be fixed now - I did a quick download test and it worked fine.
All JavaFX plugins are downloaded from the NB 5.5 Beta UC without any problems now. It has been tested on WinXP, Linux and MacOS.
I pushed the modules live on UC for M10.
Verified in 5.5beta, M9 and M10.
