Yes i think this is it.

If i use "vt100", no color, if i use "xterm" some colors (but not as
correct as within netbeans) so i guess there is another "type" of
terminal with more features than vt100 that is compatible with
terminalemulator.

terminalemulator only accepts "dumb", "ansi" and "dtterm".
"dtterm" is the CDE terminal and it has a few specialized extensions
over "ansi"

"xterm" has some overlap with "ansi" which is why "xterm" partially works.

As I explained in http://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=187345
"ansi" is not workable in utf-8 locales. The problem is that the escape
characters that do the terminal "graphics" overlap with UTF escape characters.
Same might be true for whatever locale you're on on your windows box.

Pretty much every other terminal sticks to "xterm" which means that I need to
introduce
"xterm" as an accepted emulation which will have different escape characters
for
terminal "graphics".
And I haven't had the time to work on this :-(

For the color, now that i look into it, there is also a method
.setPtyType() that takes arguments like "vt102" etc. Maybe the server
is just not sending me colors instructions because he thinks i can not
handle them. I will look a bit into it !
