ok, i found this when looking around yesterday. This guide seems like its
just what i need, but im wondering how i would do what he is doing in
Netbeans? I know that there are JForm's and stuff, but how would i be able to
do this?

also, he uses this code:

// sprites
def up    = for(i in [0..2]) { Image {url: "{__DIR__}up{i}.png"    } }
def right = for(i in [0..2]) { Image {url: "{__DIR__}right{i}.png" } }
def down  = for(i in [0..2]) { Image {url: "{__DIR__}down{i}.png"  } }
def left  = for(i in [0..2]) { Image {url: "{__DIR__}left{i}.png"  }

what exactly is this doing? He called it a list, and further on he makes
variables to store the information. I know that this helps with character
animation, but could someone disect this for me? thanks!
