I'm afraid that creating the whole Search Provider would be quite complex, because you would need to compose a form for setting search parameters, a search algorithm and a window for results.
Please check the API [1] and tutorials [2, 3] and you will see.

Maybe you will end up with a custom search implementation that perfectly suits your needs.
Otherwise, consider creating the request for enhancement.
