Sorry for this late reply guys.

This only happened with me when trying to run NetBeans64.exe on Java
32bit. It wont work. I believe the contrary will not work as well.
What if you open a Command Prompt and execute "java -version"?

Can you confirm that your netbeans.conf file point to the correct Java
directory?
In my netbeans.conf I have the following line:

netbeans_jdkhome="C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_09"

when I run "java -version", I see:

C:\Users\richter>java -version
java version "1.7.0_09"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_09-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.5-b02, mixed mode)

And then, I run NetBeans64.exe without any issues.

Edson
Sorry, I forgot to mention that i'm using 32-bits windows.
When I execute 'java -version' at CMD, the output is merely predictable:

Code:
java version "1.6.0_37"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_37-b06)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 20.12-b01, mixed mode, sharing)

I've checked my netbeans.conf in the etc directory at Program Files. It's
stating:

Code:
netbeans_jdkhome="C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_37"

So yeah, no problems to notice there...

Can you run NetBeans in console mode?

Open a Command Prompt, go to NetBeans/bin directory and issue the command

netbeans --console new

And see if something more informative give you a hint.

Regards,

Edson

When this has happened to me it was because I had set Xmx to to high a
value in the config file. Other values for other switches likely have
the same effect.

Do you mean that I have to change a parameter at this line in netbeans.conf?

Code:
netbeans_default_options="-J-client -J-Xss2m -J-Xms32m -J-XX:PermSize=32m
-J-Dapple.laf.useScreenMenuBar=true -J-Dapple.awt.graphics.UseQuartz=true
-J-Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true -J-Dsun.zip.disableMemoryMapping=true"

Honestly, I wouldn't know which parameter i should modify, since none of them
have are named Xmx and also I don't know what the other do...
