We just recently upgraded from Netbeans 5.0 to 6.7.1 (Yes, I know it's still
fairly old, but we're stuck with it).  After opening the project in the
upgraded version, I'm getting "Cannot find symbol" errors all over the place.
We have a Java Free-Form project and an ant build file.  The ant build file
finds and compiles everything just fine.  For example, I have a public
abstract class called UtilBase and in the same package and same directory I
have a public class called Util that extends UtilBase.  Netbeans says that it
can't find UtilBase.  What's going on here?

I've tried clearing the cache and making it rescan the project, but that
doesn't seem to do anything.
