I apologize if this question has already been asked, but I can't figure this
out.

I am using NetBeans 7.1, freshly upgraded from 6.9 trying to solve the
following issue (with poor results). A few days ago I did something on the
old version that screwed the code assistance somehow. In particular I can't
get code completion nor the "go to definition" assistance anymore. It's
really absurd: even if the class A is defined in the same file, i get the
error message "cannot open element ***" when clicking on any recurrence of A
in the file...

I configured the code assistance, adding the include directories of the
headers i need (I am assuming NetBeans checks also the sub-directories of
those directories...at least that's what it did until a few days ago) and
parsed the project(s) many times...no luck.

Let me add that I use NetBeans only as an "advanced editor", and I compile
and run my files from terminal.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks!
