Essentially speaking this step:

5. Type sample as the new database name. Grant full access to your root user, or a user of your choice.
Description: New Database Name dialog filled out

is not Working.

I got the Netbeans IDE 7.2 with everything from the internet and started working with the sample projects.

Subject: [nbj2ee] CustomerDB RESTFul WebService sample project

I have this running with Apache Derby DB.

I already have the MySQL DB which has sample DB(or catalog) which has the tables and the required data from the older version of this project(CustomerDB).

Even after following all the steps as per this url:

http://netbeans.org/kb/docs/websvc/rest.html

it still connects to Apache Derby and not to my MySQL DB.

My CustomerDB\setup\ sun-resources.xml

contains:

<resources>

    <jdbc-connection-pool allow-non-component-callers="false" associate-with-thread="false" connection-creation-retry-attempts="0" connection-creation-retry-interval-in-seconds="10" connection-leak-reclaim="false" connection-leak-timeout-in-seconds="0" connection-validation-method="auto-commit" datasource-classname="org.apache.derby.jdbc.ClientDataSource" fail-all-connections="false" idle-timeout-in-seconds="300" is-connection-validation-required="false" is-isolation-level-guaranteed="true" lazy-connection-association="false" lazy-connection-enlistment="false" match-connections="false" max-connection-usage-count="0" max-pool-size="32" max-wait-time-in-millis="60000" name="SamplePool" non-transactional-connections="false" pool-resize-quantity="2" res-type="javax.sql.DataSource" statement-timeout-in-seconds="-1" steady-pool-size="8" validate-atmost-once-period-in-seconds="0" wrap-jdbc-objects="false">

        <property name="serverName" value="localhost"/>

        <property name="portNumber" value="1527"/>

        <property name="databaseName" value="sample"/>

        <property name="User" value="app"/>

        <property name="Password" value="app"/>

        <property name="URL" value="jdbc:derby://localhost:1527/sample"/>

        <property name="driverClass" value="org.apache.derby.jdbc.ClientDriver"/>

    </jdbc-connection-pool>

    <jdbc-resource enabled="true" pool-name="SamplePool" jndi-name="jdbc/sample"  object-type="user"/>

</resources>

and that's the culprit.

How I can make it for MySQL? I am ready to edit it manually rather than waiting for some tool(which I am afraid is not working).
