More specifically:

private final ProxyLookup plu;
private final InstanceContent ic = new InstanceContent();
private final AbstractLookup lu = new AbstractLookup(ic);

in YourClassConstructor(){
   plu = new ProxyLookup(lu, super.getLookup());

}

then:
@Override
public Lookup getLookup(){
   return plu;
}

and that should be it. I will have a look at the issue and see what I can add.

Thanks

Wade

Hi Wade,

thank you very much for your reply!

I have created a bug at http://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=223020. ;
Please feel free to add additional information if you think you can point out
more clearly what exactly the problem is.

I've not yet used ProxyLookups and don't know much about it. I will try to
dig into the docs because I don't completely understand your solution.
Maybe you can give some example code or howto link which explains that a bit
further?

Thank you!

Andreas

You or I need to file a bug for this as per the docs of associateLookup
it should maintain those special relationships. For now, what I have
done is to create a ProxyLookup. There I call super.getLookup() and
proxy the one I want. Then I override the getLookup() method to return
the proxy. Things work as expected for me when I do this.
