Just trying to brainstorm along since big posts like this usually don't get a lot of response.

If the object widgets know where the base point widget (the widget representing the function 0,0) is on the scene, they should always be able to paint themselves on the right position right?
Also the behavior of the MoveStrategy depends on the location of the base point.

Along that line, an idea would be to create a BasePointScene with an alternative coordinate system.
We use something similar for our map component.
The widgets only know their position in gps coordinates.
A translator with knowledge of the current geoposition of the map can translate from geoToPixel en vice versa.
