A lot of people have remarked that the mailing list/forum integration
is poor, but AFAIK, nobody ever filed an issue requesting it to be
fixed.  I am not lazy, so I mentioned this during a thread on the
nbdiscuss list (which is where this kind of discussion should happen)
and then filed a detailed issue last month:

Finally, this is offtopic for the dev@platform list as you note.  I
only replied here because I think very few people are aware of the
nbdiscuss list.  If there are any followup comments on how the mailing
list or other parts of the NetBeans project is managed, they need to
take place on nbdiscuss.
