Hi,

What is the best way to learn/understand an existing fairly large php project?

I've looked thru the code. One showstopper at the moment is the vars.  There
is no way (it seems) to see a var structure to understand what the code is
really doing.  It's as if obfuscation is an intended design feature of the
language.

There is no structure definition for arrays that I've  found.
Using NetBeans, "Navigate:Go to declaration" appears to do little, if
anything most of the time; and, I see no other way to display a variable's
structure.

With no var defs, unlike Java, it appears that perhaps the only way to see
these structures might be to run the code in debug mode & use a debugger to
show the current structure of any variable (if that's even possible).

Any help would be appreciated as to how one should attempt to learn and
extend a large PHP project.

Thanks!!
