Voting for this enhancement. I really miss good handling of keyboard
accelerator in NetBeans after moving to Java project from C# and Visual 
Studio.

Recommend taking a look onto how MS Visual Studio is doing it (attaching
screenshot).

Shortly they have
- own accelerator context for each type of window/document beeing edited
- if some pane is beeing active (e.g. Find and Replace), its accelerators take
priority - should be closed or loose foces (by hittin ESC) to stop eating
keyboard shortcuts
