             Bug #: 228539
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Dark text has inadequate contrast
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: contrib
           Version: 7.3.1
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Priority: P3
         Component: Nimbus Theme

Dark text has inadequate contrast to the background.

This is especially true of the menu bar which has a graded background at the
top of NetBeans. The darker part of the background provides especially poor
contrast.

The colour of text on the tabs in the editor makes the text illegible.

A bar of purple indicates background on selected line items in some fields.
The
text foreground is black. It is also too low contrast.

Against the lighter grey of menus, I can manage to read the text, but it is
not
as easy to read as higher contrast parts of the editor.

I estimate that it is futile to try to find a shade of grey which when used as
a background makes it widely easy to read both dark and light text.
