Unfortunately, the support of C++ GUI programming in Netbeans is really poor
and the setup to let Netbeans plays nice with the toolkit libraries is far
from out of the box.

If you use Linux, I give you a chance with programming with QT with a
KDE-distro, but on Windows or Mac, or with GTK or WxWidgets...no.

I tried to setup Qt, WxWidgets and GTK+, GTKmm with Netbeans on Windows. All
fail or were so complex that it isn't worth the amount of time when I could
achieve the same result with Java and Swing in the same given time.

You rather want to make C++ Console applications with NetBeans and use an own
IDE of the toolkit project, like Qt Creator of Qt, which is included by
default  :)
