Hi,

As a test, I manually update the makefile and guessed/copied the format of

It worked.

So this leads to other questions:

1. Is there a way to have Netbeans convert an application created from a Makefile into
a "full" netbeans project?
There is no such a way.
I'd like to be able to add cpp units to the project without playing with the
Makefile.

2. Alternatively, Is there a way to have NB update the Makefile to reflect
units added to the project?
If you create so called managed project, i.e. select "New C/C++ Application", "New C/C++ Dynamic Library" or "New C/C++ Static Library" when creating a project -
then NetBeans does this for you.

"Project with Existing Sources" and "Project from Binary" assume you manage your make file(s) yourself.
3.  The Makefile had mangled file names for each .o file.   What is the
purpose of that?

Which makefile you are talking about?
As I understand, you selected "Project with Existing Sources" when creating your project, right?
Then NetBeans does nothing with Makefile, just launches make to build it

Vladimir
