Try Solaris Studio IDE. It is built on top of NetBeans and has support for dbx debugger. It has no license fee, so you can download and use it for free. If there is an installation of Studio 12.3 on your Solaris box (there is version 11 as you mentioned, but you may like tio upgrade) you can simply run "solstudio" from there. In the IDE under Tools you will find "Create Desktop Distribution" which will generate an IDE only distro for you.

Hi all,
I just started writing C++ on remote Solaris 10 by using Netbeans 7.1.2.
The problem is, there is no default debugger. So in remote tool chain setting dialog ,
I set debugger to dbx (in Sun Studio11 bin directory). After that I try to debug
project, the debugger dialog show "Starting gdb ..." and nothing happend
after I wait for long time .

I would appreciate any help.
