NetBeans 5.5 Multilingual Release Now Available--Including Brazilian Portuguese

By: Admin, 18 Dec 2006

NetBeans 5.5 is now available localized into Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and, new for this release, Brazilian Portuguese. A team of 12 developers led by Michel Graciano, a Java programmer and active NetBeans user, coordinated work by several community members to create the new Brazilian Portuguese version. Read a great article about translation by the Brazilian community.

When you download NetBeans, your locale determines which language is offered during install.

In addition to the NetBeans IDE, the Enterprise Pack also has been translated into Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Brazilian Portuguese. The NetBeans Profiler and NB Mobility Pack(CLDC) has been translated into Japanese and Simplified Chinese. For the other packs, look for future announcements.
