[ANNOUNCE] NetBeans Mobility Pack for CDC

By: Admin, 28 Mar 2006

The NetBeans Mobility team is proud to announce new product for Java ME developers - NetBeans Mobility Pack for CDC 5.0.

The original Mobility Pack integrates support for the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP) 2.0, the Connected, Limited Device Configuration (CLDC) 1.1. You can easily integrate third-party emulators for a robust testing environment. Basically it helps you to develop application for most mobile phones and it comes with award winning emulator - Sun Java Wireless Toolkit 2.2.

Mobility Pack for CDC integrates support for the Connected Device Configuration (CDC). You can easily integrate third-party emulators as Sony Ericsson CDC Platform 1 Extension Package for the UIQ 3 SDK Beta 3 and Nokia S80 for a robust testing environment.

CDC configuration is more powerfull than CLDC and it is usually available on smart phones and PDAs. UI is not MIDP LCDUI, it is usually AWT or Swing (subset defined by JSR-209) and Mobility Pack for CDC features the famous visual editor - Matisse. This release requires Symbian emulator plus a few extensions which have to be downloaded separately.

Both Packs can be used simultaneously.
