By: Admin, 24 Mar 2008

Developers are downloading and using the NetBeans IDE 6.1 Beta. What do they have to say about the enhanced support and features of 6.1 Beta? Many positive things, including a sleepless night for one excited developer.

The JJ Blogger easily imports his settings from NetBeans 6.0.1 to NetBeans 6.1, and is impressed with 6.1's JavaScript support and reduced start-up time.

Citizen Kane tests our claim that 6.1 comes with a faster startup of up to 40% and finds that the performance boost is even higher! The improvement, he declares, brings NetBeans a step closer to becoming his ultimate IDE.

Big Al, a fan of the IDE and a NetCAT tester for NetBeans 6.0, writes extensively about the new shared library functionality in 6.1, including the steps to enabling the feature and sums up his experience in two words—"Very Neat!"
